DICE Corporation recently expanded its telephony division with the addition of four new engineers. DICE’s telephony division is responsible for PBXs, alarm receivers, telecom trunks and DICE’s successful alarm signal network, used by many large industry alarm companies to avoid the sunset of legacy alarm panels.
James Beaty, VP of Operations at DICE Corporation, says that the growth of DICE’s telecom software and services within the alarm industry has taken off, nearly doubling the size of the company in recent years. DICE’s alarm clients are having them manage more of their telecom services using the company’s PBXs, channel banks and other services. Many of the top alarm companies have been moving their alarm signals to DICE’s cloud center and the alarm industry network – which has grown due to the increase in problems the industry faces, such as aging infrastructure and rising competition.
DICE Corporation was paid to build a new telecom network by some of the largest alarm companies in the industry. The premise of the network is simple, taking the alarm signals from their point of origin and riding the signals on a new telecom network that is designed to handle legacy alarm panels. This affords larger alarm companies more time to move from the legacy alarm panels that dial using POTS phone lines. “Some companies see no need to move off of the older and cheaper alarm dialer-type products since the new alarm signal network uses new IP technologies within the telecom network, preserving the legacy signal timing requirements,” Beaty said.
Beaty also attributes DICE’s successful software products to the company’s growth. “Given the success of our Matrix software for alarm companies, along with our Sales and Service software, we are seeing a large number of new clients coming from older windows-based systems to our software,” Beaty said. “We continue to expand our team to handle those new clients, while growing our products across our client base. Because DICE is one of the only alarm software systems to have its own PBX systems with expertise in telecom, we are seeing more companies come to us than ever before,” he said.
