Another DICE User Group conference is in the books with the conclusion of our 2017 event last week. The four-day gathering of DICE Corporation clients and industry members was held October 9-12 in Traverse City, Michigan at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. In addition to enjoying one of the Midwest’s premier autumn destinations, attendees were able to interact with DICE staff and learn more about our products. With a variety of seminars, panel discussions, and exhibitor showcases, the DICE User Group conference is one of our most anticipated events and a great resource for our clients.
The conference kicked off Monday night with our meet and greet at the top of the resort on “Level 17,” where our guests were treated to a spectacular sunset over Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse Bay. This casual get together allowed guests to catch up with friends, meet with our staff, and network with other DICE users before the start of our sessions.
Tuesday was the first day of our presentations and seminars, with DICE Corporation president and CEO Cliff Dice starting the day with his keynote address. In addition to the introduction of a new company overview video, Dice gave attendees a look at the company’s progress in the last year and some of the company’s goals for the year ahead – including a commitment to building the best event management software available and releasing an industry-exclusive cloud-based video recording technology (CVR).
“Cloud video recording is the future of event management, and we’re making a significant investment in building a team to engineer the technology that will make this a reality,” Dice said. “By being fully integrated with our event management software and smart security systems that recognize objects and sizes, our CVR system will place video monitoring technology in the hands of the end user, which is unlike anything currently available.”
Tuesday also featured overviews of Matrix Monitoring V17, Fire Inspection, iPBX and redundant systems, and a presentation from our sister company IPtelX on the telecom advantages that are now available for DICE users.
After discussing Matrix Service, Matrix Sales and cloud centers on Wednesday, we took off on charter buses for a fall color tour around the Grand Traverse Bay and the rolling hills, vineyards and cherry orchards on the Leelanau Peninsula. Stopping at Black Star Farms, one of Michigan’s most celebrated wineries and culinary locales, we enjoyed a variety of wine tasting stations and a unique meal that featured locally grown vegetables and meats selected by Black Star’s award winning chefs.
“The color tour and dinner at Black Star Farms was a perfect opportunity to highlight a unique part of our state and encourage fellowship between our clients and staff,” said marketing and communications director Amy Augustin. “With the leaves just starting to change, a crisp breeze and a brilliant sunset, this outing captured the essence of autumn in Michigan and will be an unforgettable experience for our users,” she said.
The event concluded on Thursday with sessions on our SMS CRM communications gateway, information on DICE support services, and an interactive panel on transitioning to cloud hosting solutions led by some of the leading central station IT managers in North America.
In addition to our seminars and presentations, DICE User Group attendees also had many opportunities to interact with our sponsors in attendance. Special thanks to DSC/Tyco, Hanwha Techwin America, Honeywell, Central Insurance Agency, Juniper Networks, Telguard, IPtelX, Ingram, Dragon Payment Systems, and Venture6 Studio. Without the generous support of our sponsors, events like the DICE User Group conference would not be possible.
